5 Awesome Women-Owned Businesses in La Ventana

When I moved to ESLV (El Sargento/La Ventana), I met an overwhelming number of bad*ss women who lived here. Women who decided to live their lives creatively, and by their own rules. It created a lively mix of awesome businesses in La Ventana - all founded and led by ladies!

Here are some of those awesome companies that inspired me:

Women-Owned Businesses in La Ventana

I remember going to Casa Tara for the first time. I thought that the space was absolute magic. Casa Tara is a place where you can truly rest, and heal. They offer retreats year-round and host people from around the world.

When I first met the owner of this business, Marcela, she told me, with eyes sparkling, that Casa Tara was her dream. And now she made it a reality with her life partner, Miguel. It all made sense to me; her passion and dedication to her project are what make it vibrate so highly.

Make sure to check them out for yoga classes, massages, their restaurant, and the spectacular infinity pool!

Regina travelled to India and studied Ayurveda, the 5,000-year ancient science of life, and the sister of Yoga. According to Ayurveda, humans are made of the five elements: space, air, fire, water, and earth. This is the foundation of Madre Luna Products.

Entering her store is an experience in itself; they will ask you a series of questions in order to find out which elements prevail in your being, and which ones need to be balanced.

Madre Luna sells skin care products, such as oils, moisturizers, sun protection, and more. Each product is carefully created in the Madre Luna Lab, designed by Regina herself and a chemist.

This awesome shop is one of the women-led businesses in La Ventana that should be on your list to visit! My personal favourite is her sunscreen “Sun Not Today”. All-natural products. All delicious smells. All are very powerful.

I am SO grateful for Blanca and for her Bootcamp, which she launched in the summer of 2022. This mama is a certified fitness nutritionist and trainer. She offers boot camp sessions on Monday to Friday mornings, at Casa Tara (talking about female collaboration 🙂!).

Blanca always has an upbeat playlist, a cheerful attitude, and pushes you to get better. She uses resistance bands and her workouts cover the entire body. Be ready to sweat with a beautiful view!

Sara is an art dealer who opened this gallery in Plaza del Teso three years ago. Since then, she has greatly expanded the art scene in La Ventana, and is responsible for a few of the murals you see in town.

What inspires me most about Sara is her creativity and ambition. She constantly comes up with new collaborations – offering new artsy activities such as painting classes, ceramic classes, photo exhibitions, etc.

Be sure to stop by Studio Vargas when you visit La Ventana, and let yourself get inspired!

This lady was my highlight of 2022! Shirena is a photographer, videographer, and lover of the sea. She is also one of the founding members of Agua Salada!

Needless to say that I am a big fan of her personality, but I’d like to emphasize her work. Shirena uses natural expressions, light, and movement in such a way that she captures the uniqueness of the moment. On land, and underwater!

More businesses in La Ventana to support

Even though the previous five are amongst my favourite female-owned companies, it doesn't stop here. This place is full of other awesome businesses in La Ventana! Our little town attracts many independent women who thrive here.

Be sure to also check out:

And finally, Agua Salada for all your activities and fun during your El Sargento/La Ventana stay!
